Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 -- A Smartphone. Empty
PostSubject: Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 -- A Smartphone.   Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 -- A Smartphone. EmptySat Oct 08, 2011 7:33 pm

The prepaid cell phone supports the vast majority of standard networks such simply because GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, HSDPA 850/1900/2100. It is size is 110. 5 by means of 52. 5 by seventeen-year-old mm. The weight should be only 145 grams and a screen is TFT 65K with 800 by 480 pixels, in relation to 3 inch. The prepaid cellular telephone does supports GPRS, WAP, in addition to EDGE. It does not have infrared feature but the prepaid mobile got Bluetooth 2. 0. The prepaid cellular telephone has an internal memory space of 400 MB.

By means of golly, could this really whether? Excuse the theatrics nevertheless it has been some time since the Sony Xperia X1抯 introduction in Barcelona during Mobile or portable World Congress 2008. Due to the fact this is Sony Ericsson抯 first attempt at the Windows Mobile smartphone, what exactly is cut them some slack?

What exactly caught my attention was its gorgeous body. Despite being thicker than most normal prepaid cellphones, the X1 has a somewhat average bulk when compared with other Windows Mobile prepaid mobile devices. At 145 grams that felt pretty solid into my hand and not that brick-like along with the closest prepaid cell smartphone in build and size to it becomes the HTC Touch Pro player.

The Sony Xperia boasts a similar optical mouse on the Omnia but I found it for being very erratic and moody. It worked well when helpful to scroll web pages still was pretty mediocre normally as I found that it tends to overshoot it has the target.

What drew me towards Sony Xperia X1 however was its screen. The screen looked great featuring a WVGA resolution and the navigation pad for the front is rather tactile. However chrome-like QWERTY keyboard senses flat despite having some slight accents on it. For starters the top row on the keyboard was simply too near the edge and the spherical design which we to start with thought would help, it wouldn't. However I did love its backlit keys, What i'm saying is after all who isn't going to like backlit keyboards?

The Sony Xperia X1 cells or rather X -panel is Sony Ericsson抯 touch interface application with the X1, much like the Touch Flo interface is designed for the HTC prepaid cell phones. My review unit had six panels of supposed to replace typically the boring WinMo Home show. I personally found a good number of it uninteresting except the particular fish pond and Search engine panels. The fish panel is a simple clock with three fishes that could swim to wherever your finger is within the screen and the Google panel is basically a shortcut application intended for web searches. The entire panels however were extra multimedia related.

Maybe this can be a little too early to essentially give a full point of view on Sony Ericsson抯 X1 panel implementation as the SDK has only been released. After all at print time a little Facebook and Windows Live panel ended up released and downloadable on the manufacturer抯 website. This cellular telephone however is not yet to get included in any prepaid cell phone plans.

On paper the 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 brand and 256MB of RAM would look like it would have been able to handle WInMo抯 notorious resource issues. Well unfortunately for our unit it did not necessarily. Lags were aplenty and in some cases a simple task similar to pressing ok and exit took quite some time which was not exactly a good sign. I ended up rebooting the prepaid cellphone quite often to obtain it to work more efficiently. Of course after rebooting, it'd behave for awhile then whole process repeats alone.

There is a silver lining certainly. At times when the prepaid cellular telephone did not slow affordable, I did find that overall technique of using the prepaid cell phone pretty ok and you decide to do get the full Windows Mobile experience that you would expect from a prepaid phone like Xperia X1. I don抰 know if your lag issues are a result of the unit we have being a prototype and maybe even a firmware issue.

Microsoft windows Mobile 6. 1 is included with push email, MS Work, Google Maps, Windows Take up residence, Adobe Reader LE and many others. Email and contacts sync is pretty efficient here for the prepaid cell phones ancient compatibility with Microsoft Windows. One of the more interesting applications is the Opera Mobile 9. 5 that's way better equipped for browsing. As expected, Opera seriously isn't the default browser and also any links you access from emails as well programs will only launch Pocket Ie.

The only downside in a Windows Mobile 6. 1 device is that there are not much third party application one could use. In fact some alternative party applications only utilize a specific device. To alleviate your suffering somewhat, there may be an online store of sorts preinstalled by Handango. Often known as Handango InHand, it means that you can purchase software from them as well as shortcut is embedded into your default home page for Opera and Pocket Internet explorer.

I have neve found GPS about the prepaid cell phone particularly awe-inspiring even so the Sony Xperia X1 prepaid cell phone surprised me with a simple loading Google Maps. With regard to locking on to satellite signals, X1 is much like any other prepaid cell phone. My test in the outdoor gave faster locks when compared with indoors and in spaces with high building, results were a tad bit more varied.

Located at the trunk of the prepaid cell phone is the 3. 2 mega pixel camera and I stumbled upon it odd that Sony Ericsson will not decide to give the X1 prepaid cell phone a five mega pixel CCD as a substitute. At least it would've put it in a better position against the onslaughts from Nokia and Samsung.

Of which aside, the Sony Ericsson X1 prepaid telephone suffers from a similar fate like all of those other Windows Mobile camera prepaid cell phones. The camera interface is sluggish in each and every way. Microsoft really has to do something about Windows Mobile抯 resource management as it doesn't matter how good a CCD you placed in a prepaid cell cell phone, the limitations in snapshot taking speed will at some point take its toll.

Concerning image quality, I will not really have high expectation but surprisingly, the benefits blew me away. Images captured looked great relating to the prepaid cell phone and even on my pc. The sharpness and the richness of colors are great even in a camera prepaid cell mobile. This more or less allowed me to overlook a portion of the minor issues like along with white balance.

The Sony Ericsson X1 gets its juice at a Li-Polymer 1500 mAh battery adequate general usage it抯 beneficial to nearly two days. General usage covers a few hours of voice calls, irregular web browsing over Wifi, taking pictures of bored commuters, playing a few hours of simple Espresso games, checking email via 3G/WiFi and listening to music from time to time. Considering the battery life of all Windows Mobile prepaid mobile devices, I found that the particular Sony Ericsson抯 battery life was considerably superior to the rest.
